Mary Magdelene was a desciple of Jesus who, in John 12:3, came to Jesus with an exspensive bottle of perfume and poured it on Jesus' feet and then wiped it with her hair. Another time, in Mark 16:1, after Jesus had died she brought some spices and put them on Jesus for his burial. In doing these things she humbled herself before God and others.
This painting is called Mary Magdelene Anointing the Feet of Christ, it was painted in the 16th century by an anonymous artist.
